Personal Assessment

Our residents are regularly assessed so as to ensure that their individual care plans help the Home identify their personal care needs and activity interests. This assessment process actively involves the resident at all times in conjunction with their family, doctor and the care team allowing for open and transparent communication and input at all times.

With our supernumerary Matron / Manager, Mrs Judy Carne RGN, RMA, and our dedicated team of nursing sisters and care assistants, you can be assured that the care that your loved one receives here at Laxfield House will meet the highest professional standards.

All our staff are trained to the highest level, with our nursing staff remaining current within their professional accountability with the NMC. The majority of our carers hold NVQ 1, 2 and 3 levels in Social Care. We have an in-house Training Coordinator to facilitate this and to maintain the statutory on-going training.
Our Home offers care to residents with diverse needs and capabilities. Some of our residents are fairly independent and active, but want the security, comfort, companionship, good food and fun activities that only a care home can provide. Other residents require more assistance with personal care and medical attention.

Whatever the case, we offer the right level of care for your loved one. There is encouragement to join in all communal activities without pressure. We actively encourage and welcome individuals to maintain their personal interests and hobbies as far as possible.

Equality, Diversity and Rights

Laxfield House strongly adheres to the principle that all residents are individuals, and that all individuals have rights. We therefore recognise and support that our residents do have every right to be fairly treated at all times with the dignity and the respect that they would expect, regardless of their age, gender, ethnic origin, sexual preference, economic status or faith or non-religious beliefs . Laxfield House ensures that residents have a right to be protected from harm or insult and to have their needs met when they are unable to meet them themselves through illness or disability. We will always respect their right to be involved in their own care and to make their own decisions on the basis of the best information that we can provide. The Home also accepts that a resident has the right to either accept or refuse the delivery of such care or course of treatment that is being offered to them.
